Using the assisted reproductive technology is not in itself the indication for managing a pregnancy as the one which is at risk or different from the one obtained with natural methods. However, in case of confirmed infertility, the management in such women is a bit more cautious. The Patients remain under medical supervision since the initiation of treatment and also during pregnancy. The course of a singleton pregnancy is typically normal; in vitro however, increases the probability of a multiple (usually twin) pregnancy, which requires special management. A multiple pregnancy is associated with a slightly higher risk of complications and miscarriage as well as of diabetes or hypertension in a mother-to-be. Nevertheless, the proper medical care allows ensuring the patient’s safety.
