The nearest stage in the development of infertility treatment and family planning will be testing of persons trying for pregnancy for the genetic disease carrier status and for predispositions to the development of diseases and disorders later in life. This means that every couple who plans a child will have the opportunity to undergo tests for these diseases and compare their results. Having had the analysis performed, the couple will be able to take informed decision about having a child, while being aware what diseases may threaten it. It is important, because so far the majority of patients who report to us to undergo specialist pre-implantation tests have already experienced the birth or death of an ill child in their family.
