The following medications are used in stimulation protocols:

  • Gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) analogues / agonists:[/li_item]

  • short-acting preparations (most often one-day),
  • long-acting preparations (most often one-month).
  • Gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) antagonists:
  • one-day preparations,
  • preparations acting for 4 days.
  • Medications stimulating follicle growth in ovaries (gonadotropins):
  • preparations obtained with the genetic recombination technique: rFSH preparations, rLH preparations, mixed rFSH and rLH preparations,
  • gonadotropins obtained from the urine of postmenopausal women: FSH, mixed preparations: FSH and with LF activity.
  • Medications causing the “pharmacological LH surge”:
  • obtained with the genetic recombination technique (rhCG),
  • obtained from the urine of pregnant women (hCG),
  • GnRH agonists in cycles with GnRH antagonist.
