Transfer of the maximum number of embryos to the uterine cavity or sexual intercourse in the perioperative period may lead to multiple pregnancy. Currently, approximately 30% pregnancies in the U.S. are multiple pregnancies, and approximately a half of the children conceived in the IVF cycle are born from multiple pregnancies. Twins from IVF cycles are born approximately 3 weeks earlier and weigh about 1000 grams less than children from singleton pregnancies, but after birth they cope just as well as twins conceived spontaneously. Triplet and higher-order pregnancies in about a half of cases end around gestation week 32. Embryo reduction is not carried out at INVICTA Clinic.
